There are many citizens in our community who have contributed greatly to enhancing the quality of life in the East Mountain Area. The “ Outstanding Citizens” program was created to recognize these citizens for their contributions and to showcase the positive qualities of these nominees. This award gives our community a chance to say “ Thank you” to those individuals and to inspire others to maintain their community pride. We hope this award will encourage people of all ages to give back to their community.


The Outstanding Citizens will be honored in the following ways:



Information / Criteria

  1. Nominations for the 2006 Outstanding Citizen Honors Program will be accepted through March 24, 2006, 6:00pm.

  2. Tell us, in one page or more, why this person/group/ organization should be recognized as an Outstanding Citizen(s). Describe how their commitment, support and dedication to the East Mountain area qualifies them for this honor. **Please fill out form below and attach your comments**

  3. Bernalillo County employees are not eligible for nomination unless he or she is nominated for additional community contributions and involvement.


The committee will meet on March 27, 2006 to review nominations and score each nomination with ratings ranging from 1-5 (1 being low rating and 5 being the highest.) A cumulative score sheet together with committee dialogue will determine the 2006 Outstanding Citizen Award winners. Winners will be contacted with further instructions, and will be scheduled to have their photos taken for the 2006 Outstanding Citizen Poster.
